Dear students,
I wish our 2024-2025 Academic Year to be beneficial for all of us. Dentistry education, which encompasses many scientific fields such as medicine, engineering, and fine arts, will also provide you with opportunities to develop yourself in areas such as love for humanity, patience, compassion, empathy, and communication skills. At the end of the five-year period, you will graduate as a dentist who is planned, hardworking, meticulous, patient, pays attention to every detail, and successfully and timely fulfills duties and responsibilities, and you will start your professional life. During this period, you will receive all the knowledge related to the science of dentistry from your professors through theoretical courses and practical applications, in accordance with this technological development era, in the light of current developments.
In addition to the courses within the scope of basic sciences such as anatomy, microbiology, biochemistry, histology, and pathology that you will take during the first three years, you will also see various professional courses, be an observer student in clinics in the spring semester of the third year, and in the 4th and 5th years, you will perform applications on patients within the framework of the education you have received. Since human health is at stake, working on your courses daily to learn, not just to pass the class, asking your professors without hesitation in places you do not understand, and performing your practical applications meticulously and orderly will make it easier for you to achieve success.
Everything at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Dentistry and our Oral and Dental Health Hospital, which are equipped with technological devices and where valuable faculty members work, is for you to receive a better education, not to fall behind in the field of digital dentistry, and to practice your profession as a very successful and well-equipped dentist.
